Guys, I have a friend who is suffering from chronic eczema(atopic dermatitis) and would like to know about the experience in bmt. He is pes c9l9. His eczema will worsen when sweating a lot.

Will there be sufficient time everyday for him to bathe (about 5mins) and to apply cream?
Will there be a lot of sweating since there is still marching and light PT especially under the sun.
btw, his medical report did not state any excuses so he is quite worried about outfield/camo,

he's been given that pes status for his condition. if his condition worsens during BMT, he should voice his concerns to his superiors and report sick. The MO may re-assess him or get him to see his specialist.

Don't worry, I'm also c9l9 with eczema. Your friend can be excused from cameo. He should be able to go through the bmt without much problems. Just remember to bring along his moisturizer (the most impt). Field camp is only 2d1n, so no need to worry too much also.

Can go to specialist to seek report/memo to get relevant excuse(s) if needed after the 2 week confinement period as your friend gets to feel how much army conditions deteriorates his skin condition. Diff MO would give diff status from the medical checkup at cmpb.

Most likely your friend would have to get excuse camo/outfield if it wasn't given originally. Camo on stinging eczema skin and having subsequent flare-ups isn't fun nor worth it as I learnt it the hard way. Worst case, get excuse uniform if really jialat; wearing no4 with dried sweat can start an itch outbreak easily.
