what do you all think the prospect would be like for the next 2 years?

its at a low now, i'm thinking to hold it for long term gains, target is to sell at 1.25. but i'm not to sure if the economic climate would allow it to rise to that level within the next 2 years, and with the feds rising their interest rate i also not too sure how it will affect this pair.

i'm no guru in finances, so just asking for opinions here.

thanks

Disclaimer, I'm a perpetual AUD bear, but I do think AUDSGD goes lower from here.

The US (and by extension Singapore) is hiking interest rates, so that's going to put long-term pressure on the AUDSGD cross; I don't have a firm view on Aussie interest rates, but they're likely to be either flat or down over the next couple of years. And the epic plunge in commodity prices isn't going to help matters either.

When AUD was up at 1.25, that was because Aussie interest rates were tasty and the Australian economy was booming on the back of the resources bubble. Neither of those are happening any more.

If you don't need the AUD for something, don't buy it.

If you believe it will go up to 1.25 in the long term, better buy Stamford land and collect fair dividend along the way every year.

hi henry, i'll take a look at that. thanks.

But yeah, things aren't as rosy now as compared to back then, but i do think the current rate is too low to be considered fair value in a sense so as to speak. So it should rise in my own opinion.

But that could be just me, just saying.
