The iem looks swee bro... especially the red colour one....
Need to buy one iem for my wife as her CIEM could take 2-3 months before she receive it.
eBay selling the iem for US$9x, hopefully selling here for less than $150
Thks Widget bro. I have always been interested in high quality earbuds instead of just iems because I find that some earbuds can give a headphone-like presentation in terms of SS and imaging, when compared to lower-tier/cheaper priced iems which usually has a non-existent or poor soundstage/imaging properties. The CM700Ti was my first true high-quality audiophile earbuds, it's really good and it's quite amazing how ATH manage to outdo themselves this time, by releasing another excellent pair of earbuds.
ClieOS/Tai has written a
Earbuds Round-up Comparison previously on Head-fi, and the ATH-CM707 (successor model to CM700/CM700Ti's) was picked and crowned under the 1st category under the Great category.
The CM700Ti like the CM707 is warm to a certain extent, its midrange is considered quite thick/full-sounding as well and there's no strident or any sort of harsh treble qualities that u would usually get with some ATH's Earsuit series headphones or Art Monitor series out there, but what's amazing is that the CM700Ti sounds quite spacious/large for a pair of earbuds, I have always been amazed with their soundstage presentation.
The latest CHX7 that I had acquired recently now, has a slightly cleaner overall presentation in terms of the mids/treble, it's def not as full-sounding in the midrange compared to the CM700Ti's (and not as upfront too, it's true as my own observations is that most older ATH stuffs are more mid-forward than most of their latest products now) so this gives the CHX7 a slightly U-shaped signature, though it's not a very drastic V-shaped sounding sig, but you can feel that the bass and treble takes a slight center stage this time round.
Also for these latest SonicFuel series earbuds such as the ATH-CHX7/CHX5 series, frm my understanding of reading the press coverages released under most japanese websites, ATH has fixed up the flaws in their previous earbud products in that most earbuds cannot output sufficient good quality bass response due to their open-vented nature. I'm happy to report the CHX7 has some pretty good quality bass as well as punch/impact for this sort of pricing, and yet it doesn't eat or veil over its midrange response. It's def better than my CM700Ti in terms of bass response no doubt.
If you are interested you shd probably look into purchasing this earbuds from
CDJapan instead of from eBay or other online shops, CDJapan doesn't charge international customers the usual 5% tax compared to most other online shops are selling and u get to earn points for yr other CD-related purchases as well. I paid for my own pair for abt 6480 yen but then again bcos I need to get my Ortofon eartips from the same online store, so it's not a bad deal for me actually.
And yup I purchased the Red color one too, as the color design was indeed quite visually appealing to me as well.
