Aiya same as haonan who gets his ATH stuff from jp also ma. Also no local warranty. Like what he said about having faith in ATH qc, so see whether you trust ATH quality or not lor. If it's cheaper, then up to individual to take the gamble. Anyway not say totally no warranty right? Just that warranty is with shop? Isn't it better than buying from overseas with no practical warranty at all unless you send all the way back?

Well, it is very different lor. What Haonan gets are usually not available here such as the W5000, A900Ti, AT adaptors or significantly more expensive locally, which may justify the trouble to get from Japan and the lack of warranty. What's more, he has friends in Japan who are able to help him on the logistic.

For the A900XLTD, the price difference between ConnectIT and Stereo was very small (about $30+) and only applicable if you are a member. Another case will be if the item breaks down, is EOL and still under warranty then AT SEA may be able to do something about it, perhaps exchanging it with a later model. If it is shop warranty and they cannot get replacement or close shop then you suck thumb.

If really trust quality then why people keep asking if Sennheiser has international warranty or not?

ConnectIT wanna sell PI is their own problem but whether they let the customers know that it is only covered under shop warranty is another matter. If they are selling PI and insist it has local warranty then that is cheating customers.

One point you failed to see is that PI goods sold does not count towards the sales figures for AT SEA. The more people buy PI, the less incentive they have to bring down the local price and also to bring in other AT products.

$30+ may not be a big sum but it could also be enough to sway decisions. That, we won't know ba. For me this kind of difference of cos i would buy from authorised dealer. But i won't be able to say the same for other pple. So what do they tell customers about warranty?

Ermm... True that PI figures don't go into their books but anyone who conducts business purely based on own books and not looking at what's happening on the ground would be quite dumb.

How abt astro a40, sennheiser pc360?
Cause I'm intending to get a creative SBZ too. Scared if i use ad700x, the soundcard capabilities will get very limited.

I think it'll be the other way around. :s13:
(The soundcard being limited by the headphone)

in case you're worried that the headphones will limit the capability of the sound card, you might want to watch this first

Funny how you post this video but still sell gaming headsets. :s13:
Just saying, please don't get offended. :)

But the Stereo bundle totally killed ConnectIT's price.

My journey of thought:
-> I estimated the price to be around $600.
-> ConnectIT selling at $400. Ok very tempting.
-> Stereo bundle at $438 with a SE215/SPE. MTL, immediately reserved a set.

One point you failed to see is that PI goods sold does not count towards the sales figures for AT SEA. The more people buy PI, the less incentive they have to bring down the local price and also to bring in other AT products.

Well said! Partly the reason why I decided to get my ES10 and ESW11LTD locally even though the pricing in Japan was better! :)

Support AT SEA! Quickly bring in my HA22TUBE. *sobs*

Well said! personally i dun mind to buy but there's got to be a significant discount and buyers should be inform of the warranty coverage upfront.

Think not difficult to get some discount here. For the price not worth it.

AT SEA should bring in these as the IM series has been selling positively well since debut.
AT fans here are willing to pay for the upgrade.

Dropped by E1 Personal Audio this afternoon. Tried the 500 series, unfortunately the earpiece doesn't maintain a good seal. Suspect that the shape of the housing and the short stem may have causes this issue.

Not sure if there any other third party tips that will solve my problem.

:s11:

Go E1PersonalAudio and look for David, ask him for the TS-500 series Comply tips. The original Complies that comes bundled with the IM series lineup are all based on T-500 series, so when choosing the TX or TS series just opt for the 500 series.

If you haven't been reading ClieOS blog which he had reviewed the TS series previously before against the normal T series, I can come in to give you my own feedback as I have tried those 3 series by Comply before, generally in most situations the TS series should help fix your problem easily. They shd have small size ones, just ask them for it.

Hi victbk, sorry abt the late response as I have been busy for the last couple days so did not actively check back the thread. Did you buy and try the TS-500 series? Because for Comply tips there are alot of series, the TX (with built-in Wax guard), normal T series (the one that's original included with yr IM02's) and of course the TS series which are based on a spherical shape that seems to go pretty well with the average human ear based on my own findings. I have found the TS series tips don't seem to suffer too much sound damping/highs roll-off issues as compared to the normal T or TX series which is why I usually stick with them. If the TS series doesn't fit your ears well, I think you might wanna try a size bigger and see how it goes. Alternatively, I could suggest you bi-flanges or triple flange sillicone tips but those are usually not very comfortable for the average human ear.

Anyway as mentioned earlier, the Comply TS series was reviewed by ClieOS before, he's a well-known Head-fier who maintains his own blog site as linked above, and has also contributed many gd article write-ups/gear reviews for the Head-fi community as well.

Also, as per yr last question you have made based on one of yr prev post, yes I do have experience with Ortofon tips. I have actually written quite a brief impressions review when compared to my own Sony Hybrid foam tips/FAD default sillicone tips on one of the other threads in here, but for some reason I can't find it so I suspect the moderators may have trashed it.

The Ortofon tips does go very well with IEMs that comes with large diameter nozzle-bores such as those found on the ATH-IM series, and they are also very soft and comfortable so I would def recommend it to you.

Have you tried sony hybrid tips? It's abit softer than the stock im02 tips so may seal better. Tip depth and profile is quite similar, which is what i like to avoid any significant sound alteration. So unless the short stem is really too short for you else it could work. At least it worked for me :D

Joe if your wife happen to use S size sillicone tips usually for her universals, just to let you know I have 5 pairs of S size for the Ortofon tips to spare. Actually ordered the S and L size in last yr nov from a japanese authorised shop but turns out the S size can't fit me as its too small. (as Ortofon tips are usually half a size smaller compared to Sony Hybrids/ATH default tips)

The L size Ortofon tips are prolly more like ML size similar to the bunch of bundled tips u got in yr MDR-EX1000 package. It's def not large in actual as its slightly smaller than my L size Sony Hybrids irl. And because of how the Ortofon tips are usually softer in texture and more rounded in shape with no wearing fatigue, I found it to complement my current AT earphones really well.

However, in terms of isolation lvl properties I do find the Comply tips and Sony Hybrids w/foams (aka EP-EXN50) are generally better though.

Just let me know if u're interested, you know how to reach me.

what's the best place to get ortofon tips online? local no have right?

Most people here and in Head-fi seems to get them directly from MusicaAcoustics online store as its the easiest way. There are also a couple of authorised Ortofon retailers in JP as well that are selling original Ortofon accessories too, personally I got my via my friend who lives there directly from a physical shop.
