For a moment, thought that the cables were replaceable.
They look like MMCX pins from the pic.

Audio Technica continues to surprise us with more product releases - CKR9 and CKR10!

Unlike other dual dynamic driver IEMs which have the drivers facing same direction, the 13mm drivers in CKR9 and R10 face each other instead. As for the housing, CKR10 uses titanium while CKR9 is aluminium alloy. However, the cables are non-removable.

Both will be available in Japan on 25th of April, Singapore should follow shortly after.

In case anyone's wondering, it's to replace the current CKM series.
The CKM1000 and CKW1000ANV never made it to the local market. :(

Just saw this on Facebook:
The new IM series cable and the HA22TUBE would be available for audition and pre-order @ E1 from 4th April to 14th April.

If anyone's interested, can head down and have a listen.
The new cable pairs very well with the IM70.
The HA22TUBE is actually priced pretty cheap for a hybrid tube amp. Sound wise not bad too.

Am not a very technical person, so not sure how to explain it properly.

But basically amps have 2 parts, the pre amp and power amp.
If both stages are using transistors, then it's a solid state amp.
If either one of the stage is using a tube (usually the pre amp), then it's a hybrid tube amp.
If both stages are using tubes, then it's a tube amp.

Examples of solid state amps are the Foxtex HP-A4, JDS Labs Objective 2, etc...
Examples of hybrid tube amps are the AT-HA22TUBE, ALO PanAm, Woo Audio WA7, ALO Continental V3, etc...
Examples of tube amps are the ALO Studio Six, Analog Square Paper TU-05, etc...

Whats the difference between the cable and the original IM70 cable?

Got 3 cables:

AT-HDC1/1.2 is normal replacement cable.
AT-HDC1iS/1.2 is normal replacement cable with smart buttons and mic.

AT-HDC5/1.2 is the high quality replacement cable:
- 6N-OFC cable (99.9999% Oxygen Free Copper)
- Aluminium plug
- Titanium infused cable sheath

Bought the ATH-M50x at Farle Funan today. They are selling at $199 while other shops at $228. Local set. Great bass, loving it. :s12:

Will hybrid tube amps still retain the tubey sound? and will it be at a disadvantage compared to full tube amps?:s11:

It will still sound tubey. Though for the amp section, it will be more distinct.
