Auto Restart Issue

It's that point of time again. My PC started auto restarting this past week. My drivers all up to date.

Did memtest. Result came in as 48/48 (Tests Passed) but during the scan there were warning about the RAM may be vulnerable to high frequency row hammer bit flips.

Ran prime95 (with blend) and HWM Pro. PC auto restart after 2 hours and 20mins. Core temp is over 70 degree on average and hit 78 degree at highest. But PC also restarted before with core temp below 50 degree (open dota, find game then gone).

How to further narrow down ah? Any kind souls can advise? Thanks!

when u mention auto-restart.

does it show a blue screen? other symptoms?

Out of all the auto restarts so far, only got once show blue screen with QR code (I'm on Window 10). Auto restart can happen when I just on PC or already running for a while. Can happen when I plug out my thumbdrive, while watching video online, about to save my Photoshop file, launch game, or updating my software. Occasionally will auto restart again upon rebooting.

Suspect either PSU or motherboard issue.

I think it's the latter. My screen suddenly goes black (the sound from the PC is gone also) and the PC boots up.

If pc is diy type. Change to a new power supply. Sound like power supply capacitor issue or power supply fan not working.

I just RMA the same psu not long ago..... same issue as yours..... No more problem with the new replacement psu....

Thanks for all the replies guys! Brought my PSU down for RMA and Corbell swapped for me. Seems to be okay for now, managed to finish one DotA game just now

Btw, just wondering is it normal for the core temp to average on 70 degree when the PC was going through the stress test?

this year there are a few users keep having issues with seasonic psu. so not sure those who have rmaed how was it for them or they might have changed brands.

70 seems kinda high for your cpu. though its equivalent to my sandy bridge cpu on dota lol.
