Just got my Posting Order.
Kranji Camp III.

To those experienced, any idea on vocational roles and duties?

A Veh means armored vehicles
Can vary from Bionix , Leopard, M113, Terrex..

not really shag. but just have to meet deadlines for the combatants to go outfield with the vehicle. and most probably u will belong to 1AMB( HQ is at KC3), which repairs A-vehicles. you will need to go OETI for training first before posting to your actual unit. I was from there as well

Really saikang man. I'm a combatant and even I feel sorry for them as they're doing more with no combat pay.

Maybe good when there's war, but in peacetime no.

but if posted to operational units then not too bad. cos in each unit there will only be a handful of technician and their job is to assist the unit in maintaining the vehicles. if spoil then send to AMB to repair.

by right saf got some criteria to determine who go where...

btw, i not from AMB and either am i a veh tech.

my nsf unit is vehicle centric so there are a few veh tech posted to the unit so i know their daily routine.

and i have been to a number of saf camps which do not house any AMB units and none of them has any facility and equipment to properly repair a vehicle. no facility and equipment so cannot repair so if got any fault that a spanner and screwdriver can't fix, the unit will arrange for someone to send the vehicle to AMB or ST.

Even if no vehicles break down during outfield u still have to maintain them before u go for exercise AND when they come back. That alone is siong enough. And no one can guarantee nothing breaks down outfield.

I recall we had "fun" when the Almond transporter's ramp got stuck halfway when deploying the candace pontoon. Almond had reversed into the wet gap for deployment and some of us had to get in the water to figure out what went wrong.

since your posting is at kranji camp 3, 90% will kena 1AMB. because that is 1AMB HQ. I still remember is blk 829 because I just ord'ed from there 2 weeks ago^^ just sucky up and enjoy loh

KC3 is now where OETI is at what? so by right all veh tech go for their course there..

where is ur unit really depends on heng suay... but A-Veh generally sucks la.. kena sungei gedong lagi worst.. see those tech at vehicle shed sibey emose 1

1 pro is stay out lor. also depending which base you are at, some not regimental at all, so its quite relaxed.

My brother is a Spec for AUTO TECH (A VEH) & he stay in camp. Combatant are issued Rank Epaulette while Technician are ask to purchase their own Rank Epaulette (because their CQ are at other camp & all their commanders are lazy to indent for them almost anything). Since my brother is a Spec, he have to preform the same appointment like Combatant such as Vech Cmdr but without combat allowance. Every day they have tasks to preform such as performing maintenance & servicing before & after outfield unlike combatant during their low peck period after training. Their only zhuo bo lan time is waiting for vech recovering during outfield.

Welcome to the world of L...R...I...!!!!!!!
Not sure if it's still the same name, but back in the day, I see those A tech haul engines I also shed tears for them.
If some stupid trainee break track outfield, you guys have to bring the recovery vehicle to save them. I've seen tanks over turn before!!

Best if you post to HQ, where they don't do much. If you are going to gedong, be prepare to service hundreds of tanks!
