Hi all,

Im thinking what ram should i get?

Avexir Core OR Gskill Ripjaws

Also, i'll be playing games like Bf4, COD ghost, etc.
Is 16gb ram overkill? Should i just get 8gb?

Thanks all.
Cheers!

8gb should be sufficient for gaming alone.

But if you have an additional 100 to spare, why not go for 16gb as well lol

Wrong time to get RAMs when they are still ridiculously overpriced. Really hoping to see price drop but not sure when...

im a firm believer that any reputable brand value ram is more than enough ....

extra money better spend on more powerful graphic card (for gamer) or SSD (for general user)!

That is very true for mid-tier and below setups! A lot of users often get attracted to the aesthetics of the pricer ram sticks. :D

Buy the cheaper 8GB kit, or buy the 8GB kit that looks nicer (provided you got the $$$)

If you are using i5/i7 CPU, forget about getting fast RAMs. It makes no difference even in gaming.

I would say just get Gskill will do. I am using the Ripjaw X myself.

Avexir is just for the blink only.

And just fyi ram prices going up again.

Avexir 1600mhz 2x4gb ~ $125
Gskills Ripjaws 1600mhz 2x4gb ~ $110
Kingston HyperX 1600mhz 2x4gb ~ $105
Crucial Value Ram 8gb 1600mhz ~ $89
ADATA value Ram 8gb 1600mhz ~ $85 (No stock)

If i were you, if looks is not a concern then Value ram is the way to go.

Else

i would select the Gskills Ripjaws, or if want blink blink then Avexir.

The days of cheap RAM are gone literally forever. No more. Be glad that they did not go up further but I bet its will go up again.

Its actually because of poor demand for PC RAM. Worldwide demand for smartphones and tablets simply exceed PCs (even notebooks sell better than PCs).

So manufacturers are allocating their manufacturing capacities for flash memory and RAM for phones/tablets rather than PC.

Supply dwindle, so prices go up.

Entire PC industry is dying already.........
