AVIVA Claim Experience

Hi,

Anyone out there has any claim experience with Aviva for their Shield plans? I made a claim for hospitalization on 6th July 2016 and till now, the case is still under assessment. Is it normal?

Called up the customer service and they say they will expedite the case. That's all but the status keep remains the same under assessment from Aug till now. Any idea where I can lodge a complaint since already complained to AVIVA and they are not taking any action. CASE?

My claim was for my dependents done electronically. I called and they say will expedite. I waited and waited and no update for the status. I called again and someone higher rank called back. They needed the hosp to fill up some medical report (Section 2) which cannot proceed unless I signed on Section 1 physically to give them consent.

Once that was done, took another 1 month before I see the claim.

You should look for your friendly Aviva agent. That's why you are paying him/her a commission.

No use too. Everytime I chase the agent to check, the agent just sent Aviva an email & says the same thing they are still accessing the case . will expedite. Agent seems to be useless in this case especially it's a IFA. Totally not responsible. Didn't push no action. No point paying them commission when I can get the updates thu calling. Somemore I have to go to clinic get some medical reports which Aviva wants for assessment since the agent is third party report is confidential.

Applicable for my case? I thought Fidrec is for cases where insurance coy refuses to pay. My case verdict still not out yet. They dragged on and on don't want to decide.

Entirely agreed. I was in a similar situation earlier. The assessment was stuck somewhere in the process and they don't bother to inform and let it hang there. For eg Aviva says they paid the clinic $ for the medical report and the clinic says didn't receive, so didn't send them report n they let this situation hangs there for 2 weeks. Very lousy service when it comes to claims.

Quite shock to hear this. I get directly from the doctor in charge and do my own filing. However, need to pay the medical report and asking doctor to answer the claim form about $120. If Aviva is the requestor, they will pay for the report but the time taken would be much longer. However, from what I gather from claim approved to getting the cheque is another 6 weeks.

Hopefully, you request for Letter of Guarantee from Aviva during admission at the hospital. At least you would not need to pay outfront 10K for the bills.

Perhaps you are lucky. For my case, KK hospital took 4 weeks to get all the documents in for Aviva. Different hospitals different service standards.

I got relative admitted to NUH had insurance from NTUC. The hospital billed NTUC directly, no need to pay anything.

U are right public hospital no need to pay anything. Bill directly to insurance. For private hospital, pay first then claim. I switch from kk hospital n after discharge follow up with MT E for subsequent treatment.

Lol the doc told me nowadays insurers make it difficult for patients to make claims. Got so many troublesome and tedious forms for them to fill in

Normally for Public Hospital is cashless. For the Private Hospital case, cashless is possible, just depend on the hospital and the relationship with the agent.
