Hi, has anyone here bought into the Global Savings Account by Aviva? Got introduced to this recently by an agent. He recommended me to take up this plan and buy into Aberdeen Global Chinese Equity Fund, Aberdeen India Opportunities Fund and Threadneedle Asia Fund. According to him, this programme allows retail investors to buy into funds that are typically only meant for accredited investors and that these funds can yield more than 10% return on average each year. Is it that good? Hope to hear more advice from others who have bought into this plan. Thanks in advance!

tell him you lend him all the money you have at 4% interest and he can take the money go invest in the very same mutual fund to get the 10% return he promotes and he can pay you back 4% and he can keep the remaining 6% for himself.

Possible to earn 10% and lose more than 10% also. These are risky funds, i suggest u do dollar cost average with these funds if u are interested to invest. Aberdeen is one of the good fund house out there. Good luck

Hi, has anyone here bought into the Global Savings Account by Aviva?

I haven't bought into it, but I was offered it a few years ago by an agent.

It charges gigantic fees: 7% upfront on top-ups, 4% per annum on your initial 2 years' units, 1% per annum on the rest of your units, and a $130/yr policy fee on top of all that.

The "special funds" aren't special enough that you'd want to pay 4% or 7% or $130 to get at them. Don't bother with this; just go to FSM.
