I had few booking in Agoda for my coming trip in dec.
I am charge in SGD, so you mean my actual charge will be much higher??
If you had already paid for it, u will not get charged again during your trip. If you select paylater option, then there will be a 5% admin charge upon the fx rate.
is this a new thing? or all along its there? I always chose pay later option, but my this Feb 2018 trip, I don't recall getting charge extra 5%

Seems like its all along in the T&C that no one bothers to enter to read. Was brought out by someone in another thread. I myself also didnt know.

Eh actually it’s by the same OP.
Name seems different? Or clone acct? Lol
I prefer pay now option with free cancellation. I can cancel and get full refund. But I tell u, I kena hotel cancel on me on agoda (yes hotels).

Thought both threads are started by joanie_dan?
yeah same ID. also thread on avoid zuji, booking.com ... and if this goes on we may have no trusted online booking soon![]()
care to share which hotel so we can avoid? thx!
Usually smaller independent hotel.
Mostly Europeans.
But is ok. I always have back up plans.
Really? Nowadays I book directly with hotels. But I’ll still do my comparisons with Rakuten Travel/Jalan.net before I proceed.
just kidding …
am still with agoda since they offer best price for me & booking / cancellation were handled efficiently so far
may try jalan.net/rakuten next year … always interesting to have new experiences
jalan, rakuten & japanican are good .. especially for those traditional onsen resorts, ryokans ... they tend to have more options (rooms, meals etc) & more promos but also for budget types like Toyoko Inn or Super Hotels![]()
So far toyoko Inn and super hotel I book directly from their website coz dun see much difference in price. And toyoko Inn I have membership, so can book 6 mth in advancejalan, rakuten & japanican are good .. especially for those traditional onsen resorts, ryokans ... they tend to have more options (rooms, meals etc) & more promos but also for budget types like Toyoko Inn or Super Hotels![]()
