Bought from OCY SG race course road mobile phone which the seller says is "Original". When send the phone to the phone official service center to replace lcd. The staff perform a check and informed that the phone has been tampered with. Got back to the seller asking them about the tamper phone, they say will repair at discount. but lcd replace charged at $440. Is this a scam??
They sell the phone as original when is actually a second hand. Then charge the repair fee. Buy at your own risk.

Sorry to hear about this. Perhaps make a police report and take it to small claims? From what you describe, it looks like fraud.

Tell them if it was a non-tampered with phone... u could have gotten it reapired at much cheaper price at the official svc ctr... btw is your phone covered by local mfr warranty?

Buy phone from appointed retailer or directly from manufacturer. Saving a bit is not worth the effort.

Some the the things they can do
1. Resell 2nd had as new
2. Replace parts with OEM
3. Selling export set as local after tempering with the ROM
4. IMEI do not match box
5. Selling you an empty box (online)
6. Resell telco set
7. Resell stolen set

Reporting to police is not going to help very much unless you're lucky.
