Awesome Thailand visit !!

I have recently been to Thailand. A short but happening tour. really enjoyed the weather. Planning for another trip this summer.

I am posting my experience and places i went to ... Hopefull it will be very beneficial for others !!

I went to Ayutthaya. Its a historically significant area. It was Founded back in 1350 AD by King U Thong, and held the position of second capital of Siam.

It is said that throughout the centuries, Ayutthaya has been the best trading location between China, India and the Malay Archipelago which is why it got it fame from being the trading capital of Asia. It also became one of the largest cities in the world by 1700. Burmese army destroyed the city in 1767, resulting in the collapse of the kingdom. The city was re-built and founded a few kilometers to the east of the ruins, which is now the Ayutthaya historical park. Most of the remains are temples and palaces, as those were the only buildings made of stone at that time.

Please do share any other places anyone has been to so that I can plan my visit accordingly !!

how long did you spend there? hot right! haha.
was thinking of going with my BF, but it's a lot of temples and culture... was deliberating between this and sukothai or kanchanaburi.

A week, a whole awesome week !! found the best placed to visit fortunately so the visit was according to me worthwhile !! and GOd was it hot?? but fun too I went to Ko Tarutao island, Ko Phi Phi Don, Ayutthaya, Ko Chang island. Awesome place I tell you ..

Hope you don't mind me asking, i was also planning to visit Ayutthaya when visiting Bangkok in Jun. Did you book your trip there from one of the local tour agencies or you took one of those mini vans from the Victory monument? I'm still comtemplating whether to follow tour or DIY. Much help appreciated.

I booked the trip from the local tour agencies.. but be careful, take a quote from atleast 3 agencies cause they would charge you exuberant amount of money if you do not know the normal rates for a visit. Local tour agency is much better option, safes you from a lot of hassle and you get to find out about a lot of things !! Mini vans are better if you already know about the places and you have planned the tour thoroughly !!

Actually, don't worry about it !! You'll find several when you arrive. And maybe a good cheap one. Online agencies are a bit expensive and you don't get to see how it is. So its your call.

I would suggest you wait and book it when you reach.
