Any place that’s relatively nearby with good access to medical facilities will be ideal. Perth is probably the furthest you should be looking at in terms of flight time.

Otherwise HK or Taiwan are pretty suitable too?

Save your money and stay home. Wait till the kid is at least 1yo.

Another alternative is to get some1 to look after while you go for your vacation.

Suggest to stay home.
1. 5 month old baby immune system still weak
2. You cannot enjoy with baby around
3. Your baby sure cannot recall this vacation

It’s wonderful that you’re adventurous enough to wanna bring your baby overseas. That’s exactly what we did with our then 5 month old last year. With an infant, obviously you can’t travel too far as he/she will soon get cranky on the plane with limited crawling space and entertainment. I’ll advise going to a resort where you can spend the entire duration of the holiday in, location doesn’t matter as long as it’s within 2 hrs flight time.

5 months is it too young? Best dun take aeroplane. I read something that it will hurt their ears due to pressure.

Anyway, I first brought my son to Genting when he was 8 months old.

You can consider either road trip Malaysia or Bintan.
