Hi, I know each airline website has an indication of the backpack dimensions, but I'm still wondering if it's possible to hand carry the following...

Only $39.90 for Jack Wolfskin Backpack - Suitable For Hiking, Trekking & Backpacking + Made of Waterproof Nylon + Choice of 4 Colours (Delivery Option Available) | DEAL.com.sg - Best Deals in Singapore

...because I've seen quite a number of travellers doing that before even though their backpacks are clearly above the stated dimensions. I'm thinking about purchasing it because the price is really reasonable for a Jack Wolfskin backpack. However, if it is not possible to hand carry, then I'll probably skip it. Thanks!

If it looks too big, they will probably weigh in. I have carried backpacks onboard before, the trick is not make it look huge to the check-in staffs at counter.

Alright, thanks dude! I decided to purchase it as the price was way to attractive to simply ignore. Cheers.

I had tried a 45 litre extended to 55. The height was way taller than the passing height but thinner.

I managed to pass through 2 times per trip.can fit in compartment nicely.

The one I saw is 70cm compared to the max 56cm. I know it will definitely fit in the compartment, juz concern tt the airline counter won't permit it.. it's basically a risk i suppose.

There's a chance they won't allow it if it looks too big. This chance rises dramatically with budget airlines, since they make money from you checking in your luggage.

My suggestion is not to risk it. If you are forced to check it in, you not only waste time ( important if you are already late for the flight), but the total charges might be more than the cost of the bag.

If you want to handcarry, make sure you buy a small bag. Even if it's fully packed, it will still look small and you'll likely not be asked to weigh it or check it.

Lastly, always buy a good quality bag, not fakes unless you have a chance to stress test it. You don't want seams to pop or a hole to develop when you are wandering around in a strange new city.

Hi, I am planning to buy this HARD CARRY TRAVEL SUITCASE 33L [21.6 x 15.4 x 9.1" (6.6 lbs)] from MUJI to travel around. Can this consider a carry-on baggage?

Yes, but only just barely. But at 6.6lbs(3kg), it is far too heavy. Hand carry luggage may be restricted to 7kg or 10kg depending on the airline. A 3kg handcarry is almost half of your handcarry weight limit.

Hard luggage also occupies alot of space in the overhead compartment, even if it's half empty. I suggest a softer, lighter bag.
