Backup Different WhatsApp/iPhones with Same Apple ID

My iPhones are synced with the same Apple ID (via iCloud), but I have only been doing backup of one of the WhatsApp accounts.

Now I would like to backup the WhatsApp of a second iPhone that I want to replace.

Can this be done, because I noticed the backup goes to the (same) iCloud as well. Does the iCloud recognize the different phone numbers when I do a restore to my new iPhone?

(For Android, we can have different email accounts.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Probably not.
What you can try however is include WhatsApp in your iCloud backup.

Do give this a try as I have not attempted this before.

I'll have to look into that more in-depth first, as I don't want the original backup from another phone (which is more important) to be corrupted.

Or maybe I'll just email the important part of this second phone's WhatsApp instead, just to keep a record of it...

Don’t mention it. To clarify I’m referring to the backup mechanism that backs up your entire iPhone. Not the WhatsApp backup feature.

What you can try however is include WhatsApp in your iCloud backup.

Maybe the second WA account you can migrate to WA business.

I think this will allow one cloud ID to save these 2 separately as WA and WA biz are independent

Oh, I didn't know iOS has WA biz too. Came across that back when I started using the old Samsung Galaxy Note 9 but I don't do WA backup for that thus didn't look into it any further.

I managed to do what I wanted to, so I thought I'd just update you. Thanks again for trying to help.

I'd 2 iPhones with the same Apple ID, iPhone A and iPhone B. I wanted to get a new phone and move everything from iPhone B over, including WhatsApp messages.

All this while, I'd only been updating the WhatsApp messages in iPhone A and noticed that I can't do both since the backup goes to the same iCloud account.

Someone who's helping me set up the new phone was the person who taught me how to do it. to say, it's actually just to put the intended iPhone next to the new one and everything (I didn't know that included the WhatsApp messages as well) will be transferred to the new iPhone.

I previously just put my latest iPhone to do the transfer, thinking that since everything's from the same iCloud account, it made no difference which source iPhone I used. Learned something, that I should just use the intended iPhone to copy from.
