Bad A level results Fail GP

Hi all, I need advice on my a level results. Any inputs is much appreciated.
H2 maths A
H2 Chem B
H2 Bio D
H1 Gp S
H1 cse A
PW B
My points is 71.25 is it possible to enter any of the local uni with my results given that I fail my gp? I'm at a lost now regarding to retake again during army but I'm not confident if I can get similar results... Either that other option is to take sat to help with my gp grade,was a unexpected shock since I never failed gp throughout my jc before but rather achieved c/b consistently. Will go ahead to appeal for gp for the slightest hope. Any advice is greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance

My friend GP fail with S (Sub-pass), Qualified for NUS Science Course. They might ask you to take English Module though... Based on your grade still can enter local uni, but might have to go for interview

SAT will not help you if it is not part of the mandatory minimum requirement. You must understand the difference between good to have and must have. If the minimum entry requirement states that for A-level graduates must come with a minimum GP grade than you are out of luck. You can try and see how far luck takes you with your appealing, but with the best average grade in 10 years, you could not choose a worst year to be done with your A-levels.

I suggest you conduct your search in the most methodical way possible by first throwing out everything that requires a GP grade of some sort, next look at REPUTABLE PRIVATE Institutions (e.g. Ngee Ann-Adelaide) AND THEN look out whether you want to repeat. Repeating something you do not enjoy is a very good indicator you do not enjoy something in the first place. Don't make the mistake of making your last resort the first resort only to ask why everything feels so miserable.

I dun think private sector job recruiters want to see your "A" Level cert when you have Uni Cert.. Public sector yes.. they want u to send in all ur certs

Hi TS, don't give up. Just do more research on what you are able or would like to pursue during uni. Afterwhich, just apply for all 3/4 local unis. There is still hope! Alternatively, you might want to look at repeating A levels by returning to your JC (since they only take those that failed at least 1 A level subject).

SAT will help if your applying for SMU because SMU looks at a competitive SATs score (>1900) If you managed to get around 2200 - 2400, you should be considered for most SMU courses (even law) but still mainly subjected to interview.

'A' Level Results from the 1990s and Combined Certificate for General Paper only

I have a friend who took his GCE ' A' Level as a Private Candidate on his very first attempt during full-time National Service (NS). He was a storeman and he attended the then ITE's Part-Time Workers' education for one year before sitting for his 'A' Level in year 1997. He also had 5 GCE 'O Level passes including English Language when he took his 'O' Level examination in year 1995. This means that he had neither attended Junior College nor the Centralised Institute before attemting his 'A' Level in year 1997. He re-took his 'A' Level exam all over again in year 1998 due to his General Paper fail grade. How is his 'A' Level performance so far, judging from the fact that he sat as a Private Candidate and also for the very first time, during NS. Does he qualify to study for the UOL (University of London) Degree Programme in SIM (Singapore Institute of Management) ? Can the General Paper grade be combined for year 1997 and 1998 ? He made an appeal for review of his 1998 'A' Level results for Economics (had multiple-choice questions then) and Mathematics 'C' but was unsuccessful as there was no change in the appeal of results for these two 'A' Level subjects.

Hi, I'm in a similar situation as you. I failed GP and was totally unexpected as my GP grades had been improving steadily to C in Prelim. You mentioned that you appealed for review. What's the outcome? Is it worth it to do so? My RP is lower than yours(69.75) and wish to apply to NTU physics and engineering. I was told by my teacher that it is possible to get in as uni don't really look at your GP grade but more of your RP and content grades. My content grades are still decent(BCC/B) and meeting the Igp for both courses.

Why dig up such a old post? I think you shouldn't ask him, he may not even be active in the forum.

69.75 can qualify for some engineering courses, like EEE, Material Engg, Civil Engg.
