Is it really very big difference in terms of pricing or the difference in price is....managable?

I put it this way would be easier to understand.
For example you have budget $1.5k, around 50% or half of the budget goes to graphic card.
Branded desktop or gaming laptop would be better as graphic card are overpriced.

over 100% markup over msrp.
high end cards easily costing north of 2k, midrange difficult to find below 1k. even last gen budget cards like 1660 super, originally cost about $350 now hard to find below $700 brand new.

For GPU,It won't drop down that much if you choosing the big brand and GPU number if you keep waiting while 40 series or 7 series will be launch by then.

As for bundle CPU, the price is more or less as usual.

In the end, Budget is the only main point you thinking.

There is no bad timing if you need one. If you don't need one urgently, you should just wait.

To give you a perspective of the cost of the GPU now, in the past, if you don't use the PC for gaming, a simple GPU should cost you around 200+ bucks. Today, the same GPU will cost you say 150 bucks more, i.e. 350 bucks. If you are looking for a good gaming card, the increase in cost can easily result in the GPU accounting for 50 to 60% of the cost of the system, where in the past, it may be 30 to 40% of the cost, depending on the setup.

Not bad timing, just terriible pricing.

Just build 2 pcs for 2 friends. Things like CPU+Board are easily available, may be not on Intel side, especially higher end ones. But AMD there are surplus stocks.

The pricing are somewhat ok, not so bad and not say we have not paid the same price earlier this year. But the GPU is the craziest jump.

A quick check yesterday, im glad i snag a rtx3080 for $1.2k earlier this year.

6600XT - $8xx
RTX3060 - $8xx
RTX3060Ti $9xx
RX6700XT - $12xx
RTX3070 - $14xx
RTX3070Ti - $16xx
RTX3080 - $18xx
RTX3080Ti - $24xx
RTX3090 - $3xxx

It is possible to find RTX 3080 around the 1.5 to 1.6K mark, but they get snagged up very quickly. And chances is that you will find them on Carousell with a few hundred bucks mark up. But I agree, as compared to a few months back where a 3080 is being scalped at 3.5K, it is significantly better now.

Pricing will definitely go up and up.

This is not the first time that China is doing the culling of crypto. In fact they did it a couple of times. It will eventually rise back up again.

watching gpu prices on taobao, it seems like the current trend of dropping prices will end soon...
Yes, it did come down kind of... but...
sold my Vega 64 to a miner and upgraded to a 2nd-hand (month+ old with receipt to prove) 6700XT bought from a user with ONLY $100 actually spent.
Thanks to Vega 64 being very popular with miners.

Bluestack? Sometimes lag can be due to outdated Windows/driver.
Maybe you want to consider updating Windows/drivers for the laptop.
