Hi,

Anyone know if there is such shop that repair zip for bags? Need to replace my fault fred perry bags zip. Still in good condition just the zip sucks.
The fred perry staff has no idea about this.

Go to far east and ask some alteration tailors. They might be able to help or point you in the right direction.

Alternatively, go to Mirrco at middle road.

That is correct. When I used to bring bags to repair shops, they always tell me to go back to the original shop first. They are just really surprised when I tell them that so and so branded bags don't offer that support.

You may also want to speak to a senior staff at FP before going down to any of the options I listed in the earlier post. This will ensure that you get the original parts. Repair shops 99% of the time will use a generic or cheap brand of zipper.

I don't consider FP very "branded". It is certainly not in the league of Bally or Prada. So no repair works is quite expected.

seriously.... for branded...mostly are those luxury brands can provide this repair service. At least i sent in my prada bag for repair, no question asked. Now sending in my wallet as well.

I don't see any point why FP will provide this repair service. They are not even considered branded to me.

Just my 2 cents of opinion.

Which branch and which staff? Did he or she go extra miles to ask you to leave your contact number down and followup with you? Or did he or she simply brushed you off by saying don't know?

My initial encounter was at the cineleisure branch, the zip on my FP bag gave way which i expect it to sooner or later as the zip does not seem to have a metal "stopper" at the end of each zip. I asked a tall slim sale lady if they do any bag servicing cos the bag is a gift to me and still pretty new. She said they do not offer such service. I asked to talk to the manager which is a shorter fair guy with long side parting fringe. He too gave the same answer.

I left the shop totally shocked. Recently at ION branch, i too get the same answer. I guess FP singapore only sells, they dont do after sales servicing, which kinda sucks. I am pending FP UK HQ reply.

Any Recommendations?

Sorry i know this post is very old but any shop recommendation? My female friend was telling me can try Honest Crafters leather bag repair but I'm not sure because I'm sending in a handmade 5 digit leather bag for cleaning and restoration. Any one has tried their service before?
