Thailand to hold elections on 24 March.
If u already booked ur tickets, then bo bian already ...
airline wont allow u to change dates for free , or get a refund, unless MFA issue an advisory, informing people not to fly there , then there might be chance that the airline would refund u or let u change travel dates ...

Usually it's quite risky to visit Thailand before election. Past history show there are a lots of violence happened during this period. Practice extreme care to crowded places. Avoid rallies as a lots crashes happened among rivals party's supporters. Beware of the surroundings and have a safe trip.

If Air ticket and Hotel not booked yet. Try to visit another time. Best period to visit BKK is Nov to Feb. Avoid April till Oct as the summer heat and raining season falls between that period. Hope this info helps.

Now Thai gov is army control, rally has been cut down a lot and under control area.
Previous gov has no control and rallies are very often.

Those ppl going in feb and march, just stay in tourist area, you are fine, read thai post for any update. I'm going in feb too.

Went there before, when bangkok in the "not-so-safe" situation.
lots of ppl camping outside the centralworld to protest ...
seems kinda worrying though ... but luckily everything was ok ...
