airbnb usually works well in countries where hotels r expensive, and motels condition are poor...

for countries such as bkk, malaysia...where abundant hotels are dirt cheap and good, is more advisable to go with hotels...unless ones want, needs to try out stay and experience locally.

I've stayed at Glow Pratunam. It's opposite Platinum Fashion Market and above Shibuya 19 mall where the McDonalds is.

Very clean boutique hotel I must say. Around $80 a night after taxes.

It's about ten minutes walk to the nearest BTS but is in walkable distance to Pratunam Markets, etc.

But being in Pratunam, expect busy traffic and long waiting time for Uber/Grab.

lift send u to the bts station also can liao for that price. no need to use your leg to walk.

Novetel platinum good? Intend to bring wife n bb go there. W bb won't venture out too far. So staying 4d3n at there. Any recommendation for food n shopping there?

not bad, however the price might be on the higher end about $140+ at least per nite. you might also want to consider amari watergate.

novotel platinum 4*: standard room is 22m2 no bath tub.
location: beside platinum mall shopping mall

amari watergate 5*: deluxe room is 42m2 with bath tub.
location: opposite platinum mall

normally both hotel prices are about the same ...
Hence would usually have chosen amari watergate instead, if u dun mind cross the road over to platinum mall ...

however if u like to stay near supermarket, there is big c supermarket, just beside arnoma 4* hotel. which is about 5 min walk from platinum mall ... price is usually 85+ at least , superior 28m2 with bath tub ...

Arnoma 4* hotel location is good but room furniture is very old and worn out.

Yup renovated lobby. room still ok if u not those picky ...
But location is superb, just beside big c, buy things already, just put inside room.
then can walk 5min to bts to other malls like siam paragon .
would personally still choose amari watergate for a bigger comfortable room.

there r plenty of foods around amari wg...but if you want more street foods type...u can try the street infront baiyoke sky (ie pratunam wholesale mkt areas) ....in morning and around 4-5pm+ all the food push carts will start setting up ...
from amari wg...there's short cut...u go to glow hotel, after u passed by glow hotel then turn right into the soi (cant remember is soi 15 or soi 17) ...walk all the way about 8mins....u will reach.

Wha just now I eat one local stall located in between pantip and plantium. i think directly opposite glow? Shiok and cheap.

Food price like 30-50 baht.

Bro is it easy to cross over to platinum mall from Amari watergate? I m w a bb. My pal recommend me novetel platinum say it's smaller but easier to move add since I have to bring 18 month bb along.
