Hi, looking for some help with building a new PC. I only need it to be able to do basic word processing (MS Office) and surf the Internet. The PC should be able to run 1080p videos and the occasional Photoshop, nothing too extreme.

Any recommendations on the components?

What are the usage for photoshop?

Cause photoshop is something that will cost a bit more.

The thing is your config can just be a normal Pentium g3240 with 8gb ram, 1tb hard disk, 128gb ssd, a 300w psu, case, optical drive, and a OS.

If considering that you need to use it for photoshop purposes then you will need a little more CPU horsepower.

1. Photoshop can eat a lot of memory if you are using a lot of high resolution layers.

2. Photoshop is mostly single thread bound. A lot of cores is not going to help.

Don't need OS and SSD plus would prefer a mid range i5 CPU, any recommendations?

I like the Fractal Design R5, does the above specs fit into the case?

SSD not needed? Thats the only thing in the pc that makes the pc buttery smooth and lightning fast.

If you just bump up the cpu to an I5 with no ssd. Its gonna be much slower than your i3 with an ssd.
