As far as I understand Varta is not a good as before.

No idea. My previous experience with Varta was good but sold away the car already.

I bought this back in Jun cause my Amaron coming to 5yrs old. Changing as a precaution.

Products | Start-Stop | Start-Stop Plus | VARTA

Bought the 60AH one, cost me $210. But if can last 5yrs I think its worth it. there is a label says its made in Germany but don't know if its real or not.

The mechanic say battery is very good, same as the Bosch S6 (I only heard of S5, now got S6??) so I buy lor.

But the CCA of 680A is really high. I have never seen a 60AH battery that can produce that much CCA, so I guess it should be decent.

Btw, I always change battery myself one. I would prefer to clear the ECU settings when I change batt.

Power bro!
I meant no otherwise, but to stretch a battery to 5 years.

Actually am asking this for my friend's Opel Combo
which is currently using Varta (model: E38-574 402 075) 74Ah.12V that reached 2 years.
Am abit kiasi type so advise my friend to just change before it break down. Cheycheychey..

So bro, any to advise where to change it at a 'good' price?
As far as I understand, 75amp cost around $150~$180.

u can go sgcarmart and do a search by using the keyword "varta", give the workshop listed a call for a quotation, and choose the one you like ... i have initially identified a workshop through this method and planned to change my car battery, but too bad the battery died during servicing and no choice has to take the battery from the workshop (autosaver changi).

Otherwise, if your friend is AA member, then can use AA's battery change service, I have not tried it before, but heard that it could be quite expensive. As a last resort, can always go autobacs, but will be very expensive.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Am a Amaron user too; so far so good but will still change on a regular basis once reached 2 years as the feeling of getting struck waiting for help is unbearable especially for such wear&tear item.
Now just no knowing is either Amaron, Bosch or Varta(still) better?

Do not think ny friend is a AA member thou.
Guess no service comes for free, when you are struck, it helpless to be a victim to those who will take advantage and over-charge for stuffs that is cheaper.
Nevertheless, this is another service when we really need it as if not fix on the spot, towing will also cost money plus your precious time.
