Just changed to a new MBP 13" Retina display. Wish to find out what is the best way to prolong the internal battery life. Do you guys leave the magsafe 2 power port connected all the time to power? Or use till low battery and then charge full then remove the power port?

My previous MBP 13" battery life is very short after 1 year.

no need to think so much.. just use as per normal. apple will replace defective batteries free of charge within the warranty period.

defective means:
1) system error saying battery requires servicing
2) normal condition when battery is less than 80% of its original capacity.

Exactly, but claiming warranty for batteries is another obstacle. They have this diagnostic software that AASP will use. If its a pass, they wont change for you unless you pay. If the battery falls inside the criteria i just listed, the software will give you a fail.

So yeah, just a word of advice not to argue with the AASP cos its futile anyway..

I have this error code PPT004. Until now they also refuse to replace. Only resit the battery connector for me. Its a bit insulting to me but oh well, what can i do?

Battery is only hundred plus. Motherboard is as expensive as the laptop itself. U go consider carefully arh..
