Just collected my ip8 from A.lab Changi.
Sent in Thursday and ready yesterday. Replaced screen and battery. All covered by Apple care+. Wanted to wait for Apple Store but Apple care+ expiring 2jun. Didn’t want to risk it.

Dont AppleCare+ cover express replacement where they come to your house and pick it up and send it back to you?

If i remember correctly express replacement is swap your device and you need to return your device within 1 week.

In between you will be billed a deposit for the replacement iphone until you return faulty device.

Please correct me if i am wrong.

I had used iPhone Express Replacement Service (ERS) twice...

Give a call to Apple Support and explain the problem you are experiencing with your device. Mention that you prefer to use AppleCare+ Express Replacement Service.

Apple Support will then guide you to perform an online diagnostic of your device. For ERS, Apple will put a hold on your credit card the retail price of the replacement device for 14 days, or until you return the faulty device. If you did not return your faulty device after 14 days, then your credit card will be charged for the full amount. Otherwise, Apple will just release the hold.*

DHL will drop a package in the next business day with a refurbished device (both iPhones I received were refurbished but manufactured at a later date than my faulty ones). In the package you will received a packing envelope, shipping labels and instructions on how to ship back the faulty device via DHL. (You will use back the same packing box from your refurbished device for your faulty one.)

*Do note that after Apple received your faulty device back, they will do an inspection and may charge you prevailing fees for cracked screen, dented body frame, etc. that you failed to mention during your call to Apple Support. You can check Apple Support site for what repairs or parts are chargeable even if you have AppleCare+.

Did a ERS for my iPhone 8+ awhile back and it was confirmed that minor cosmetic damages like a small dent (which mine had) and scratches are fine. Received a refurb mint condition looking device and got my CC value back within a few days of shipping old device :)
