Anyone went for apple battery replacement recently? Does apple requires you to remove passcode or let them know your passcode for battery replacement?

when I changed batt during my X days had disable “Find My” before the staff take the phone inside to their techs..

Yes I did last week.
You need to enable repair mode. then the genius bar will be able to check in your device with Find My still on.
However, when you get back the device, the repair mode is still on. You need to disable stolen device protection, wait 1hr, disable find my, and then turn it on again. The repair mode will be gone.


Note that once you have done repairs on your device. the following will show. A quick chat with rw mobile says they dont mind it and will not affect trade in prices as long as its showing genuine apple part. Could be a problem for some if buyers on carousell mind it.

if for "asset enhancement" purpose. buyers shouldn't mind a brand new battery i would presume if their intention is to use it normally

If you bought new phone, removed icloud, factory reset the phone.

will this be easier? Dont need to set anything?

The only requirement is disable Find My service. Sometimes if your phone is older model running on older iOS they might force you to update it before servicing.
