Battery sucks to the max

Been using the 5S for a few days. Ysd went for a run using runkeeper. 2 hr 8mins run drained from 70% to 17%. Seriously ah. Just 2 hr of gps shouldn't result in such a sharp drop.

On the other hand, it seems to be charging rather fast. 5% in 3 mins or so

Change to 3G mode. When you're running past places that don't have 4G, the phone keeps searching for optimal networks. This searching process will drain battery.

Also when running, if you leave your screen on, that drains battery too.

Is about normal. If I run full marathon the battery is gone by the end. Timing about 4h plus.

setup as new or restored from backup?

advice is setup as new. cos if restore from backup, might bring over bad battery management flaw.

yup battery life on my 5S also totally sucks, worse than on my 5. with location off, back ground app refresh off, airdrop off, i still need to charge the phone in the office if i want to have juice left when i get home. Power drops real fast when on 4G....

my note 3 can tank few days haix.

I'm not sure why your GPS is draining so much battery, but when I was on a road trip in Norway, it lasted a full 7 hours using Google Maps. I cached the area of the map I would be using, so all that was left is the GPS connection, screen off (cos the voice can tell me where to turn, no need to look).

Not sure about run keeper but on I am on runtastic pro and a 1hr run only drains about 10-13% together with my Bluetooth headphones though.

Im using iphone 5 and today i used google maps for about an hour. Came out of house 99%. When i reach destination battery left 50%. Im another sad user. In fact it became 0% in 5.5 hours. Whatsapp,calls and google maps. Why oh why is everything perfect except for the battery.

I used endomundo for my iphone5. Jogged for 48mins with screen off and on 3G network.
Dropped around 8% nia

After all, A7 and A6 chips. A trade off for performance over endurance(battery)
