Hi, I have a slightly over a year old Asus FX502VM, realized a few days back that it won’t charge past 77%. Tried to google online and seems like it is a known issue but the methods to rectify it does not seem to work.... Is replacing the battery the only way left to resolve this?

Asus notebooks seem to be riddled with qc issues that's why there are so many refurbished sets being sold.

1 year old means warranty should still be in effect. Check if your laptop is still under warranty

Try to use or discharge the battery completely.

Then charge the battery only by power on and without turn on the laptop to use.

Note that it may take some times to begin charging.

Did not work lol, the laptop just shut off at 55% and wouldn’t turn on anymore. I guess the battery is gone case....
