Battlefield 4 PC Specification

With the current rig that I have, can I play Battlefield 4 with acceptable graphical settings? I do not mean Ultra and High settings for every function though.

You are looking at med-high settings if you want a minimum 60 fps framerate. If you can OC your processor and upgrade your card to a 760gtx or 280x, you can get 60 fps in the beta as reported by Frosty. But the beta is unoptimized. And actual release will be better. My rig gets 45 lowest in smoky areas to 80 at smooth areas. Thats how bad the optimization is in beta, when ATI users with lower end cards have reported smoother framerates.

How about get a new ATI card and at the same time get BF4 for free with their promo? Seems to benefit you both.

And I thought the beta version should be the pre-launch version of the game. It seems that DICE needs more time to polish the game before the official launch date.

No it isn't by a long mile. Even some 780 SLI users say they lag. Its a hit or miss thing and is totally random to what your performance is during beta. And they already acknowledged that it will be better at launch.

Some people are ok with 30 fps like console performance and then claim that their rig runs it super smooth. Minimum 60 fps users see it as laggish. If you belong to the min. 60 fps camp then you are looking at med - high settings at launch. My estimation and that is with optimization. How you define acceptable graphic settings is what I have mentioned above. 560 ti is 2 generations back and even though its only 3 years, the performance jump is huge. Even a 760 can perform better than my old 580, that is why I changed.

Your 1gb card would probably run out of juice to run the game be it beta or release. Probably play some low or mid settings at 1650 resolution.

As what I can see. Beta bf4 is slightly far from perfection. My gtx760 single card can run all at ultra without any AA and getting about 40fps-65fps. Vsync do helps a lot IMO lol.

If you got spare cash to spare a gtx770 will do just fine.

Else a single gtx760.

For red camp best is to wait for r9 280 to be release.

My take, wait till the game is out before deciding whether you wanna upgrade your GPU. The i5 2400 is still a good CPU, so I feel there is no need to upgrade there.

The game (which is beta now) is still highly unoptimized so best is wait for the retail version of game to be released first before deciding.

unplayable on gtx780sli on 4320x2560.(even on lowest setting and only me in server, all other games work fine for me.)
not really optimised yet. best to wait for retail version and retailbenchmark.

Or cheaper alternative is use receiver to ramp up 4k resolution. Though is not the true 4k.

Time to let go that monitor wor.

Go find a 1980 x 1080 monitor. Then you will know where your gpu really stands.

But a 6850 can support 1080p monitor without an issue. And probably playing bf4 with a mid tier card should land you a 40 - 50fps at mid settings and no AA.

You need to wait for the official game or change graphics card. Benchmaks have shown that the game favours AMD cards right now.

Although you may see Nvidia getting higher frame rates, but the game play is very laggy compared to AMD cards.

played the beta with MSI 560ti 2GB Ti Twin Frozr II on a 1080p monitor, all low settings with frame rates of 40+. Playable but doesn't look or feel good. Really need new gpu to be able to enjoy it

Edited. Don't think got 1980 monitor right? If got budget can just get TS to upgrade to 760. CPU doesn't necessarily needs to be changed.

mine is 6950 leh 2gb haven flash to 6970 yet...
