I want to invest but I do not know stocks. Anyone had brokers to introduce, reliable one or... I understand alot of DIY their investments through POEMS.

How does the commission work for agents and also through POEMS?
Anyone have stock to recommend?

What are the things to take note of?

What is STOP LOSS? I saw alot of website around like xForex. UFMarkets... What is the different between them and POEMS?

Good to ask questions, but another newbie thread... you can read up other recent newbie threads first. Dont look to other people for tips what stocks to buy, learn how to to do your own analysis. commissions are for brikers only. use low cost ETF instead of unit trusts where possible, UT have higher upfront/annual fees. Use well known local brokerages.

Learn the basics of investing by googling, or read here:
Investing - Investing-Basics | Investopedia There are different investing strategies, like passive investing, dividend investing, value investing, dollar-cost averaging. Read a lot to up your knowledge on investing.

Avoid forex and option tradings for now, they are not really profitable for most newbies.

I think you have to do your homework and find out more about yourself what type of person are you, then go to the particular investment.

Stop limit order is an advance order type where the platform sends in a limit order when stop price is triggered.

stop-buy1.png

Above is an example of stop limit order. In this example, when Blumont has a trade last done at $0.42, the platform will send in a DMA limit order to buy 25,000 Blumont shares at $0.42.

These are all the fields, what are their options and what they do.

Contract Name: Name of the stock (Market type: SGX)
Contract Code: Code of the stock
Direction: You can set it as buy or sell
Order Type: DMA Stop Limit
Duration: Day – this order be good for the day only. In another word, this order will expire if it is not fulfilled/done at the end of the trading day
Quantity: Number of the stock that you are buying/selling. Note: 1 lot usually = 1,000 shares
Stop Price: The price that will triggered the limit order
Limit Price: The price that the platform sends in to buy/sell. It will be done at the specific or better price depending on the market depth. Please note that the orders are not a guarantee as the price may gap through the limit price.
Stop Trigger Price:
(A) Last done – when the stop price specified is last traded in the market
(B) Bid price – when the stop price specified reaches the bid price
(C) Ask price – when the stop price specified reaches the ask price

"no stock investment knowledge" + "fuss free way to park my saving"

I guess you are better off parking it in an FD.

pick up some good materials and learn yourself. everyone have their own technique. example i trade on monthly chart... as long as i profit 100% per year, i am happy already. look for sites with ready information to learn... example undergroundstocktip.blogspot.com.

when you have enough knowledge to buy stocks then look at the lvl 4 , those are the site that help you improve your timings based on global trends

JTS: InvestGlobal event

Hi all, JTS about this upcoming event at Suntec Convention Centre this weekend. It's organised by InvestGlobal with Jim Rogers as the guest speaker. Google "invest global event" to find out more details :) Definitely not to be missed!

If you create one account just to come in to promote this. That would show how dodgy this event it. I'm more inclined to give this a miss.

Alternative investing & P2P

I think people with low investing caps should try out p2p investing. Returns have been quite favourable for me.

It's being discussed here, I've learnt a lot. Thought it would be good to share. crowdfundta lks.com /category/18 /crowdfund-talks-singapore

sigh, why don't they allow me to post links!
