Let me tell you the story of what exactly happened. So I got this GA mobo with a 3770k from another hwz-er, and I ended up trading it away for a 3570k with some top up cash. So I came home to insert the 3570k basically. There was some leftover thermal compound on the socket's metal lock so my dad decided to use some cotton wool to wipe it off, end up the cotton wool got stuck in between the socket pins. Was already pretty pissed and I suggested using compressed air to clean the now-stuck wool in the pins, didn't hear my advice, took some really old and abused thick cheap brush to brush the ENTIRE socket. The wools were cleaned, the pins were bent.
I already suggested to be more careful doing all these and shouldn't be using a brush, still insist on doing it. Didn't notice the pins were bent already so happily assemble the PC, power on and voila RAM error. Tried to remove all the parts, just mobo and cpu to boot still same. Insists that the 3570k brought back is damaged and I got conned (the trader is a really nice guy). My dad went out after so I sat there and disassembled everything and called the owner of the 3570k chip. He insisted that the cpu was working fine this morning, and to prove it he actually came all the way down to my residence with his rig within an hour (thanks Blazing fire!). Swapped the chips and proved to me that the 3570k is working, and that was when we found out the pins were damaged.
I am aware it is never a proper or moral thing to be referring our elders as 'MF'. The case is he did something wrong, I thought he was wrong, he insisted he wasn't, a problem came up, blamed it on a 3rd party's item. If that isn't sufficiently justified for me to call him a MF due to frustration and irritation, then you can continue to call me an imbecile, trash, immature, whatever.
I wonder how the kids are raised up these days and why his dad deserve such treatment when what he did was accidental.
No matter how much you have paid for your mobo cannot be compared to raising you up by him.
