Best budget performance mid tower casing?

Hey guys! So i've been upgrading some parts of my PC in the hopes of extending the lifespan before my next upgrade and I noticed that I'm having some heat issues (GFX restarts) due to my old casing (cm elite 343). Running it open now without the side window, sans all filters but am looking to replace it as its simply too old (some minor corrosion etc).

What's the recommended budget bang for buck mid tower pc casing to get now? I've been googling but there's simply too much out there. Was looking at the Corsair Carbide Spec 03 but was wondering if there were any better options out there under $100 (maybe $120 max). The top air flow looks interesting since I put my pc in the corner of the room which may limit the effectiveness of the back fans.

Any advice for a guy out of touch with PC hardware?

saw a recent thread on silverstone rl05 in this sub section, like not bad, and with a front usb type c port for future motherboard with that output.. S$98. just that unsure about aio cpu cooler radiator top exhaust support.

Interesting. I have owned a silverstone before. Wondering what the quality is like at that low pricepoint.

Can consider Fractal R5? Current promo comes with a free additional fan, so you can run a two intake one exhaust setup without any more outlay.

http://www.lazada.sg/fractal-design...e-silent-series-r3140mm-white-fan-215200.html

$141.50 - 10% (DBS Friday) = $127.35
- 2% shopback = $124.80 + $4.79 shipping / About $130 all in.

If you're new to shopback, you can signup here for $10 credit: https://www.shopback.sg/hwz

Unfortunately its over my budget. I'm targeting 100 with 120 as a stretch. Is it that much better when compared to the other suggestions? The windowed version is also a little more expensive.

Nzxt S340 .

Seems this is priced 160++? Above my budget sadly.

Love the design. I think i can get this to $120 with some coupon/shopback shenanigans. Do you think its worth it to spring a little extra for the S version?

Wow. Seems to have all the features of the above cases at such a lot price point? Wonder when black will come back in stock.

Ok here is my input for tecware

Just built a PC using it 2 weeks ago.

Very good, lots of holes everywhere for wires to come out, almost similar to Phanteks P400.
Case is spacious.
Most brands they choose to take away CD ROM BAY, tecware alpha choose to include the CD ROM BAY which really help alot honestly.
2 X USB 3.0 + 2 X USB 2.0 port on the top panel is a plus point too.
The thing I am very impressed is that the case comes with 3 fans, 2 infront 1 back.
For 69 dollars I seriously didn't expect that.
Top panel filter is a thin slice of magnetic filter, another amazing point.

69 dollars case comes with its con as well, the build quality.
I will be comparing with fractal arc midi for this.
The metal does feel cheap compared to brands like Fractal.
The side panel is not entirely transparent type, there's this bluish color when you look at it.
And the side panel plastic feels really cheap.

Overall its a very impressive case for 69 dollars, you get the functions of a sub $100 case and you dont have to worry about cooling as 3 fans are provided.

Phanteks P400

I had the chance to build a PC with it, I must say its very nice case to work with, cable management can be done easily.
However there isnt any CD ROM BAY.
Build quality is better than TECWARE.
The best thing about this case is, you can change the casing LED colors by pressing a hidden button which is beside the reset button

I actually found the lack of 5" bays a plus as it gives a much cleaner look. Unless you use a lot of CDs in your daily functions, an external CD drive is good enough.

Haven't used the others, but I guess it depends on what you're looking for. For me, the main selling point of this case is the noise dampening, filters and good airflow, along with the sturdy build quality. If you're looking for a windowed case, kinda negates that anyway since that panel doesn't have dampening, so yeah, may not be a good choice for your needs.

All aside you also won't expect a $69 chassis to have PSU + HDD cage cover... :s12:

Those 5.25" bays are also useful for those intending to install fan controllers.

as for techware, psu slots, is there a lot of space for bigger psu? esp for the cables. cos from what is see on the hdd cage might block some space for those bigger psu.

From a review,

Spec sheet never indicate but can roughly determine the clearance by taking note of the motherboard mount reference mount points:

Roughly 17cm without cable....

modular psu at 17cm (exclusive of cable) can fit? e.g. superflower leadex.. roughly around 20cm when plug the cables
