5 days... but i paid on 1 jun

Giro still deducted for May and Jun even when payment was made way before deduction date. Think this is because notice of assessment (NOA) was not yet released. I waiting to see if it is still the case for Jul after the NOA is released. In any case I think 5 days in advance is too short, I usually pay 1 month in advance.

One possible clue is, after you pay up before your Giro date, go IRAS.gov.sg, login and check under payment arrangement, you will see the pre-arranged Giro deduction date disappears.

I am waiting to see if my above observation is correct

Thanks, my Jul payment which I paid 20 days ago has been removed from the payment plan :)

For info of those who don't know where to see the GIRO payment plan. After logging in to IRAS, click on "payments" under "pay services" in the left column, then click "View Giro Plan"

Nice share, it works for me as well.

For those who are looking for it, login to IRAS first, on the left side click Payments, then click View GIRO Plan.

Next payment in 2017 :s22::s13:

Yes. This one confirm works. I paid 2.5 month worth of giro on 27 Jun, The giro arrangement has been reflected accordingly, and my next giro deduction will be on sep with 0.5 month worth of the amount

Yes. Thru iBanking or ASX. But won't get any points, obviously.

How about HSBC revolution ?
If I pay GIRO via this card, will I be awarded 5x rewards points ?

Can anyone write a comparison which cards are the best for income tax payment by instalment or one off payment ..

Obviously not.

The two three options to earn points with credit cards are following:

- HSBC Tax Payment Facility. Fee is 0.5% of the bill if you are using HSBC Premier card and 0.7% if Revolution or Advance. You will earn only standard points which translates into $4 per mile. Yes, that's correct, not other way around.

- ANZ tax payment facility. Don't remember specifics, but according to calculations it has the same effect as paying annual fee for miles, so no benefit.

My understanding that those are only options to pay tax with credit card and earn miles.

How did u get $4 per mile ?

If say I use Premier card, and the tax payable is $10k.

0.005*10000 = $50.

$50 gets you 4000 miles or 1.25 Cents per mile. If your calculation is based on spend, then it's $2.50 spending gets you 1 mile.

Did I miscalculate this ?

Obviously not.
