Do you have any recommendation for shield plans that are the best? I jus need coverage up to class B1 ward. No need class A and pte hospital as it will get too ex over the years. Any advise here? Looking for a company that has high claims rate ,have great pre and post hospitalization benefits and comprehensive cover. Thanks.

Indeed GE plan has alot of Frills to make it look nice such as

- Get well soon benefit
- Hospice claim
- Countless of woman pregnancy complication coverage
- Emergency accident claim

However, end of the day, its up to u to decide which is most impt

For guys, some of the stuff are not applicable. While things like get well benefit of $500 looks extremely attractive, i always tell myself ...the premium difference between NTUC and GE is nearly 20k in total based on my age now (27) till 75

How many times must i get warded jus to get back my 20k :s22:

Yup for me, i get the rider and private hosp plan. Its better to get higher tier first. If in future cannot afford, still can downgrade without medical underwriting

Looking for public B1 too. Both GE & NUTC have? What is the name of the plan?

NTUC you can take A first and downgrade to B1 later.

If you take A class plan and you are hospitalised and only choose B1 ward, you get $100 a day cash benefit.

What is the difference in premium between A and B1?

I gonna agree with you on that one.

I bought NTUC, everything bought the best, private + no cash upfront, yearly I think its less than 300 cash, very affordable. For some others need about 400++ or 500.

The difference in premium is high, and the real coverage of some things that you want is covered too, so my personal choice is NTUC for the ISP.

NTUC seems to be an affordable choice... But does anyone have feedback on actually claiming from NTUC? Any difficulties encountered? Any experience to share? Good or otherwise ...

if u read the old threads, NTUC disallow a claim if u do not have the original receipts, copies of it by the hospitals are strictly disallowed.

My late mum was insured under GE shield plan. We bought the coverage up to B1 (if I remembered correctly).

From the time she was diagnosed (which we informed the insurance company accordingly) until she eventually passed on (which took another 2 years), the claim process went very smooth. We kept all the receipts and relevant documentation in place and in chronological order to facilitate the claim processing by the insurance company.

I must qualify to say that I am not an agent with GE or have any other vested interest.

Sharing from personal experience.

For govt hospital NTUC no need to provide receipt. Duh.

Just inform hospital you are covered by NTUC. Hospital will claim direct from NTUC. At most you pay the co-pay portion but I got rider so no need to pay anything. My family claimed twice already.

Enhanced IncomeShield (an IP)has got 3 types: Preferred, Advantage and Basic? How come the no info on what is covered by each type?

There is also a IncomeShield (also IP); 4 types: P ,A ,B and C. What is the difference between these two? So total got 7 types. Are they out to confuse the customers?

Which one covers gov B1 + excess $200 - 300?

Incomeshield has been superceded. No longer offered to new customers. Look at enhanced incomeshield, that is the equivalent of integrated shield plan and what other insurers are offering.
