Best point and shoot digital camera?

Hi all, would like to have some advice.
What is the current most popular and good point and shoot camera around ?
Budget less than $700

I used to use the Panasonic tz40. light, good zoom and compact.

if you dun mind a bit more bulk, the Casio exilim ex-100 which I use now seems to be a good option too. although it will be over your budget

Am intending to buy the tz40 after much research. Feel that it fits my needs. $449 listed price feels a bit expensive though. Will shop around to see whether can get better price.

just checked in stores, tz40 out of production, only got tz55 for $399.
Is it a good buy?

Image quality wise the LF1 would be a better choice. I think it's going for about $400+ these days.

How is LF1 compared to Sony Rx100 MK2 and Hx60V?

Based on sensor size alone, RX100MK2 >> LF1 > HX60V. Larger sensor size usually means better low-light performance.

If I'm not wrong the LF1 uses the same sensor as the LX7 which is quite a reputable camera

rx100 III & sony a5100 is the difference btw them big? I have no idea which to pick. Going to use it for indoor and outdoor shots. Record XAVC S video. Take selfie too haha.

i like LF1, good low light n good zoom. but it's a bit old. m expecting LF2 soon...

Just to add on, I managed to get a 2nd hand Sony rx100 (1st gen) for around 300 plus. In my view, it is great value if you dun need the latest and greatest
