Yes, it is under the "Household Recognition" programme and my wife got her VI & PP under her own name.

I know of a friend making full use of this Household Recognition programme as a priority banking customer. Enrolled his wife and 2 children. All carry SCB VI main cards, not supp cards. The 2 children are studying overseas and so have no income. So, they hold secured SCB VI cards instead, secured with $10k FD each. All four were entitled unlimited-entry priority pass. Another good benefit they have is that there is no charges for withdrawals from ATM overseas.

was told scb started charging some customers annual fees for the VI card...did your friend's kids and wife pay annual fees? or were they waived?

No idea. But for my case, it was auto waived every year except the first renewal which I have to call them to waive the $300 annual fee. If they have changed the policy, likely many of us will return the card.

10k FD can get secured SCB VI? Or need to have priority banking first?

They refused to waive the annual fee for my VI so I cancelled it.

One person need to have priority banking status. Rest of the family just need 10k FD to get the secured SCB VI if their income below 30k per annum.

Sorry, what is VI and PP again?? :p

I am currently with DBS Treasures and also Citigold, and had pretty bad experience with SCB. Basically I think what your experience is like will just boils down to one thing: the RM himself/herself, how much s/he values you. Of course there is probably a whole set of algorithm guidelines behind them to assess our credit worthiness, assets, occupational potential, investment knowledge, etc etc but its still up that particular RM in-charge of you.

I have RMs who basically booked free car rides, airport lounges (even when I am not entitled to), waived off late payment fees / finance charges, give me free tickets / gifts because I was probably very valuable to them, or they are new and do not have enough clientele. At the same time I also known RMs who don't even bother to reply my email when I inquired about a product, maybe think I asking so many times never buy.

So now that I have HWZ to seek more advice on investments as well as reading up on my own, these RMs become just runners for me. In that case, I would always choose new birds instead of those Hermes / Chanel-clad high flying RMs, because the latter would just have their nose in the air when they realised you are not going to give them that 3-5% sale charge for yet another silly mutual funds.

Haven't been using a Singapore credit card for a long time; what can a VI card do?

And for PP, any pre-conditions? You can take jetstar and still use the lounge? Any country?

For DBS Treasures I need to be taking SQ and call my RM beforehand to let him book a slot for me before I can go to KrisFlyer Gold Lounge. In Singapore only. Which is almost useless because I can go to SilverKris anyway, and I am based overseas... :(
