well it depends on what task you are doing, if daily light usage like normal fb, websurfing, movies or even gaming, both makes not much differences.

unless u are doing heavy task like photoshop, video editing, rendering software, den better performance ssd comes in place.

Just get the cheapest one. Not much difference even in very heavy and specific workload.

Unless you're a benchmarker and the scores prove that you have the bigger D, otherwise just get the cheapest.

What's a decent 500gb SSD to get for gaming? Don't really need a high performance once as I'm just looking to get faster speeds than the HDD I'm using currently.

How's this? Including shipping it'd be around $190.

Sata SSD, doesn't matter if it's fast of slow. Current SSD are more than enough to run these at fast pace. Photoshop you need another SSD as scratch disk for max results.

Hopefully, better SSDs than the Ultra II Something in the Crucial MX300 league will be nice...

To TS though, Samsung SSDs are generally quite no-frills in installation. Firmware upgrades are easy to do, non-destructive. Some Crucial drives have an additional level of data integrity with its RAIN feature and some slight form of power loss data protection.

If you want a no horse run SSD for storing data, in general you can't go wrong with Intel, Crucial or Samsung.

My own experience with Crucial MX200 had not been positive compared to my Intel, Samsung and Plextor. As and when will result in BSoD and disconnection from motherboard until i remove and plug in again..
