Actually posted this on another thread, but since I took the effort to write this up, might as well up my post count!

I dug these data out from almost a year back before I was flying to Europe! I remember scrambling around to get one in the week leading up to my trip and I was so afraid that it wouldn’t work and I couldn’t get another in time!

Their selfie stick has one of the longest extensions around at 108cm – very important on tours as you want to get as much of the background in as possible. However, a downside for me is that their selfie sticks do not have a shutter release mechanism. As seen from their Facebook, users had to set a timer to snap a shot. As I was using an Iphone 4 (how could you forget the timer, Apple??) at the time, I decided to skip out on this. The phone holder also had to be detatched when keeping, so it is a little cumbersome.

While looking around for a better design, I found that their model was the same one as selfiesticksg.com, so it is a little overpriced, considering that selfiesticksg.com is only retailing at $21 inclusive of a separate Bluetooth remote!

I was really intrigued by Xiaomi’s selfie stick because of how tiny it is! Though it says 25cm shortened on it’s website, it is really less than 20cm long because the phone holder can be folded down. I actually bought one because I thought it would be really handy to just stow it in my pocket and whip it out whenever I needed it.

It has a Bluetooth shutter release button built into the handle (great!), and is super lightweight. However, though the extended length (72cm) is great for a 1 or 2 persons, it could be a little short if you want to fit more.

I bought another from selfiestick.sg while searching for longer selfie sticks as backup. After trying out Xiaomi’s mini selfie stick, I was a little afraid that it wouldn’t be long enough to capture my tour pictures (it did cause some problems doing a bottom-up in Paris).

Selfiestick.sg selfie sticks also has the foldable phone holder that Xiaomi uses, which I thought was an improvement over the ones that have to be detached. They also extend to a meter long, just 8 cm shorter than selfierod’s – something I am willing to give up for the lower price and the shutter release button.

Yep, it comes with a shutter release button built into the handle as Xiaomi’s is, but it connects to your phone to via the audio cable instead of Bluetooth. For myself, there is not much difference as I prefer to immerse myself in the experience do not take too many shots on tour, but I can foresee Bluetooth sticks running out of power if you are a really vigorous selfie taker.

Selfiestick.sg’s selfie sticks come with a 3-month warranty and 7-day refund, which I fortunately did not have to use (I would’ve left Singapore within the 7 days too anyway). Shipping is free regardless of your order value, and all selfie sticks come with a free silicone phone stand, those cool ones that curl and can flatten when not in use!

I revisited their site recently and saw that they are now offering a $3 voucher for liking their new Facebook page, which would make a selfie stick only $14. How I wish they had offered this earlier!

I was really happy to find a $8 selfie stick – until I realized that the selfie sticks are without a capture button. Bluetooth remotes are sold separately at $8 each. $5 shipping is compulsory as there is no self-collection, so it is the only way to checkout. This sums up to $21 for a functional selfie stick - still cheaper than what you get in retail stores for a similar features. If you buy 3, you also get 1 free!

Their selfie sticks are exactly the same ones as selfierod.com’s, which means they have a great extension of 108 cm but do not have a shutter release button as well. I am also afraid that the detatchable phone bracket may not be secure, does anyone own one of these type of sticks? Would like to know if I am paranoid! I would definitely get theirs over selfierod.com’s as they are only $21 (compared to $29.90) and also includes a Bluetooth remote!

I would say that their in-built Bluetooth version (which costs $21/pc + $5 shipping) is a better deal, as a separate remote is rather cumbersome.

I dropped in to Qoo10 to see if there are any new deals that are better. However, this was the best I found, given my requirements. I DID NOT get this, but the reviews aren’t too good though.

For one, their illustrations and products clearly do not match. They claim to be selling a selfie stick with a shutter release button that connects with an audio jack similar to selfiestick.sg.

However, pictures provided by customers show that there are no buttons and utilize a Bluetooth remote instead.

Shipping costs $5 and the selfie stick is $23.90, making it $28.90. The pictures provided by customers resemble those from selfiesticksg.com.

Perhaps they are just resellers? Evidence points to this as it is common to see customers complain that their delivery takes weeks to arrive, despite the shop claiming to be a local supplier.

Do you have any other novel designs of selfie sticks? I hear that some selfie stick handles can open up to become a tripod!

Bluetooth can be abit unreliable in crowded place. Still prefer the trigger via earphone jack
