Whats the best value m.2 2280 SSD at the moment. I'm planning on snagging WD Blue 3D NAND 1TB at 110 USD from amazon. Are there any other SSDs that I should look out for, I don't necessarily need a super fast read/write speed SSD, i'm mainly looking at value in terms of dollar/gb.

For 1tb M.2, WD blue is S$150 from Prime now whereas Intel 660p is S$136.

If you desperately need one, get a 128gb SSD for OS install. Typically around 20 USD via amazon or other US retailers.

128G is a little low now a day. SSD need about 30% free space for life span and performance consideration. So if you use it for OS only, best is to have around 160G or higher. So likely choice is those 240G or 256G.

The other day, there was USD$107 2TB 660p deal, I missed it, sold out within an hour.

660p while is QLC, doesn't has super high endurance and performance isn't super high either. However, if using it for game storage, it is good enough.

On benchmark for gaming test, 660p perform better than sata ssd by a few seconds, slightly more than a second slower to optane, finally less than a second slower than the best performing nvme ssd.

Of course, due to the low endurance, I recommend getting at least the 1tb or 2b variant. Though strictly speaking, average users don't write that much anyway.
