After my experience of ssd failing after 2 weeks and destroyig all my data, i am going to start backing up my pc

Currently i have a 120gb boot drive, and a 512gb programmes drive for all installs

I was thinking of buying a 1tb hdd and just clone those 2 drive onto it using 2 partition since there is enough space. Is this a good idea? Or got some problem i should be aware of

RAID 60 your system
Buy the HDD in different batches
Don't need to be scared of losing data anymore

Suggest to get those 3.5" HDD and possible external type for convenience storage with cables & power adapter, and cheaper for more storage.
And backup would usually be kept apart and for long term reliability.

Do note that there is a need to have regular backup period timing so that it is keep up-to-date.

Beside cloning as one option and the other is Backup using > Macrium Reflect 7 - Free Edition (Home Use)

Macrium Reflect advantages are that you can retrieve individual files from within the Backup.file as whenever you need.
And able to update files within the backup; as well as restore in full as similar to clone software.
Read more to understand the benefits of this Macrium Reflect.

For me, I am using a mediasonic 2-bay enclosure with 2x 4TB hard drives, did housekeeping and regular backup there. Running on RAID 1 (Mirror).

I used to manually backup, but got lazy to do regularly, now use backblaze (US$5/mth).

Backup to cloud is the best as your data will always be there. Obviously don't store confidential data on cloud unless it's your own personal cloud server.

One of the cheapest is backblaze. Also quite decent.

I won't recommend raid as a backup simply because data gets mirrored. So if you accidentally deleted a file, the same is replicated to raid. Backup however, you can easily recover that data.

Raid is more for redundancy. Means if your hdd gg, normally data will gg. With raid, the risk of your data going gg will be reduced and the raid can be repaired by replacing the faulty hdd to recover the data which you had at that point of time. But if all hdd gg, means everything gg.
