I'm considering to purchase
ThinkPad T16 AMD G2 as it's on sale and within my budget of <$2000.
Are there any other laptop out there that have better value in terms of performance?
Mainly using it for office work but it needs to be future proofed as it needs to last for many years.

If value for money is a key factor, either get the best deals this BFCM, or buy machines that are lightly used. There are some fantastic used laptops that are going for far steeper discounts and still have pretty good warranty remaining. Case in point: I saw an X13 on Carou just some days back with warranty expiring in early 2025. IIIRC it was a 1185G7, so a pretty solid processor with a good 16:10 screen too.
Also, buying one generation older stock is an option. I don't think the performance difference between the 11th to the 13th Gen intels is significant enough to be a factor. For AMD, the major differentiator for the 7xxx series is their new 680M/780M GPU, which ups the game quite a bit. But if you don't have any major graphics requirements, buying the older Vega based iGPUs isn't a bad option.
I know some import Chinese domestic model Lenovo laptops for the warranty, and then reinstall English Windows on those machines.
PS: For comparison, 45% NTSC screens are panels I would avoid. And at 16", FHD won't cut it for me. 2k screens at least, imo.
