BF4 ad COD rig advise

Hi,

been quite long since I had a rig because I have been using Msi GE60 laptop for my FPS/MMO/MOBA gaming needs. however, with the recent release of BF4, COD Ghosts. I now find that I am unable to enjoy these games at Very High/Ultra Settings ( I am the type that love to enjoy the game environment as much as it can offer )

And since my Bro has been bugging me to pass on my laptop to him whenever I decide to upgrade, I decide that maybe now is the time to do so.

I am here now because its been quite some time and I am none the wiser regarding the current generation hardware even after reading through some articles here and there. and so I need your expert advise.

Requirements will be the rig itself, including a 27" monitor and windows. please exclude peripherals (keyboards/headset/mouse/casing etc).

- Intel Cpu and mobo ( if possible I would like to know why a b85 with i5 that is often recommended instead of z87 and i7, would choosing the cheaper option affect gaming performance?) will not be OCing in the near future

- GPU- was leaning towards Nvidia because of the Geforce Experience . ( I don't need to figure out the gfx settings for each game) but it seems that many guys recommending AMD for price/performance. that's fine by me.

-Storage- SSD and HDD

-PSU

-DVD drive

-Ram

- cpu cooler ( corsair h80i?)

-don't need wireless network card. or dongle ( rig will be wired)

Budget will be between 2k-2.5k ( but if u guys can recommend a rig that is much cheaper than it's better also, as long as I can play the games without any problems on ultra )

i think the reason why they recommend the b85 most of the time is because if there are no plans to oc, a z87 (which is an overclocking board) would be kinda pointless

likewise the i5 4570 is more than good enough to handle any games since cpus are rarely the bottleneck, and even if the game is cpu intensive, the haswell i5 is more than powerful enough to handle it...i guess the mindset of many people is that i7 = better, but in reality it depends on what the person is going to use it for...the more threads in the i7 would be more useful if you do lots of rendering and those kinda stuff, if for pure gaming only, the i5 is more than enough

Since you're not oc-ing, the stock HS included in the processor package is enough for your needs

My recommendations is since you are going for such high budget. Get a dual GPU giving you more horsepower to run games on ultra settings..

If you wanna go for single GPU setup then it will be cheaper.

Everything the same. Remove 2 of the GPU and 850w PSU.

Mp r9 280x 3gb twin frozr + superflower hx600 600w 80+ gold efficiency ~ $529

Total will be ~ $1962.

Fyi if u are gaming @ 1440p a single 280x will not have enough juice..

U might wan to consider the 290x 4gb if u intend to use single gpu ~
