Where in Bintan?
There are two 'Bintan's - one is 'Indonesian Bintan' where local live. And second - well, so called 'resort area' where locals are not allowed to go and is designated for foreign visitors (mostly from Singapore).
I personally was there (at both part of Bintan) twice and I would not consider resort area a good performance/price ratio. Prices for resorts are in range of $100-$500 per night, food at resorts is more expensive than at restaurants in Singapore with questionable quality.
Facilities on most resorts are not in great shape, to be frank. The beach is clean at the immediate vicinity of the resorts and 100m after that it is trash piled up. Nothing much to do at the resort area and if you decide to go to 'Indonesian Bintan', then you need to arrange transportation there are back.
If you don't want just to sit and do nothing, you might want to explore other destinations.
