Bios detect hdd, but couldn’t boot up

OS corrupted?
I try to connect this hdd with another pc hoping to back up data, but it doesn’t show up on the pc.
does this conclude hdd is dead completely?

2. PSU failed with paper clip test while a fan is connected to it, but fan didn’t spin. PSU confirmed gone?

1) Does it show up in bios but not in os ? If that's the case, you need to create a secondary partition and format the hdd.
2) Most likely.

It showed up in bios under original system, but couldn’t boot up. So removed hdd connect via usb for back up, but it’s not showing up on the back up system

2. any other way to test psu before I discard it. I did try connect to another pc as per norm, also no response. It’s seldom used psu

1) I had this issue of newhdd detected in bios but not show in os. I had to do a fresh reinstall of os, create partition and format during install setup.
2) I don't think that's the problem but did you check the condition of fuse in your psu ? Anything else you would have to
bring to a technician with necessary tools for checking. I'm not expert in electronics.
