Did you register your child birth cert at hospital or ICA?

I just realized if you register at hospital the charges is more than what ICA charge

I've done both at ICA and at the hospital.

It's probably more convenient to do at hospital, as there is alot of down time where you can just go do it.

Doing at ICA requires you to run an extra errand. Of course, if you stay nearby, it's probably less of a hassle.

Did at ICA too. Do check with the hospital as the counter might not be opened daily and it’s strictly appointment based.

Did at the hospital.

Newborns immunity is still very low, did not want to risk baby catching any bugs when ICA has hundreds of pple at the same area. You'll never know whether the guy in the same lift as you having cough or flu on that day.

You can also book your birth cert registration to be on the same date as the 1st follow-up check with the pediatrician to save on the number of trips you have to make with your newborn.

Your baby doesnt even need to be present for the registration. Either one of the parents can go to register the birth

I downloaded a Moments of Life (MOL) family app. Can register birth certificate, CDA/baby bonus and library card at one go!

Hope it helps another new parent =:p

I did at hospital, like others have said, there is actually a lot of downtime where you got nothing to do, so might as well just walk over and do it. The $20-$30 extra cost is nothing IMO compared to the extra time and travel cost needed to specifically go ICA to do.

Didn't try the app though. Maybe next kid.

If you already know what names to be given then it's easy to register within hospital on the day, otherwise no rush, pick the best sounding name then go down to ICA within a month to register:)
