Very well researched. Depends on how much time u spend on shopping e.g. mon you go pratunam, platinum and pantip, then go terminal 21? These places are huge with many floors and after that you still go chinatown? If u go with female companion, it is not practical.

I will be going w my gf, which i think shopping shld be fine w her?

Pantip will not cover much, cos we are not much of an IT ppl.
Chinatown we will only go ard evening time which I hope give us ample time to shop ard the shopping malls mentioned.

I know Platinum is huge, is Terminal 21 a huge mall as well?

As mentioned, depends on how much time you spend in Pratunam and platinum. If you covered CTC well, you may need to spend less time. Since you stay at Pratunam, might as well walk around whenever your taxi drops you in the area.

Terminal 21 is quite big because you will likely clear all floors to see the interior decor e.g the toilets.

Depending on what clothes you tailor, you need to fit in a fitting on Fri or Sat and collection on Mon or Tues.

oh, i did not put this into consideration.
thanks for the kind advice. i might need to be prepared for this.

in that case, i might need to cut short the time of pratunam market and platinum fashion mall so that i can have enough time for terminal 21 and chinatown for the start of late afternoon.

so far, are taxis reliable enough to take? even after midnight?

don't go with too much expectation for the chicken rice
may be nice to some (from other countries) but SG version definitely better..

better to change in SG unless you are sure thai baht will depreciate when you are there
difference not much and SG rate seem better

pratunam is an area which is really big
platinum mall is a mall that has six floors of shops
one can spend one whole day in platinum and another in pratunam if shopping is the main purpose
half a day for all seems... idk... very rush?

if you're not IT kind of person, just skip pantip totally
the only thing cheaper there is pirated cds/vcd/dvd
not sure about HDD though

for me, siam paragon/centralworld nothing much to shop unless you are into thai brands
european brands are all cheaper in SG
they are like another Ngee Ann City or ION orchard...

as pratunam/platinum is kinda like a wholesale area
you might want to start here first since you'll have a feel of what's in (in thailand) and price range
else you might find yourself beating yourself up because you paid more for the same item elsewhere earlier :D

that's v true
i might look to switch my day 5 to day 2.
centralworld/siam paragon will be just exploring to get an experience since both of us are going bkk first time to see what's all about.

based on what i see on the website of super rich thailand, it seems that they are always offering better rates than singapore eh. or it might be a gimmick for tourists to go there and it might offer at a lousier rate actually? haha i hope not.

thanks so much for your input. i will put into my final revision of my itinerary.
