Hi all, need some help.

Just assembled a new rig for my dad, managed to successfully install the OS.

However, problem comes when log into Windows 8.1. When I reboot the PC, I can see the inital ASROCK logo, and is able to go into Bios if I choose to. I only cannot see anything when logged on to Windows. Even during the initial installation of the OS, it is working fine.

The monitor is showing just a black screen. Model is Viewsonic VA1916w.

When I move my own monitor (Dell U2312HM) to connect to the new rig, it is able to display the screen. I have already installed the latest graphics card drivers. This is the first time I have encountered such a problem.

Want to look for solution before buying a new monitor.

Any help will be appreciated :)

This issue is either resolution or refresh rate not supported by Viewsonic monitor. Using the Dell monitor, try to set resolution to that of a native 19" monitor and refresh rate to 60Hz. Then shutdown and swap back monitor.
