Hello all I was wondering because I had to OOT from my BMT the first time due to torn meniscus and quad muscle I still need to do BMT. I have a few questions like can I still go SCS as a recourse because its what I really wanted to go to before I tore my meniscus and since being put in unit in a very slack but boring vocation I want to go even more.

Is there anyway I can hurry them up to send me back to BMT?

You will have a chance to go SCS/OCS if your BMT batch is a "leadership" batch.

From what i know, these batches are usually PES B1, BP, A.

However, due to your injury, your pes status may change.
A torn meniscus may cause you to be downgraded to PES C.
Your pes status will depend on your medical condition, what your specialist feel, what the MO feel, and in some cases the medical board will have the right to decide.

Thus, if your new pes status does not allow you to enter into a leadership batch BMT, you may not have a chance to go OCS/SCS.

How fast you will be sent to BMT will be decided by your manpower branch, and one of the factor will be your next medical review.

Amount of time left to your ORD may also affect your chance of being sent to command school.

This is all i know, hopefully it is accurate.

This is actually my second torn meniscus but for some reason they never downgraded me the first time even though I did specifically tell them about it.

However I have managed to stay at PES B1 as I had a long chat with my specialist telling him I really dont want to down PES. I was in leadership batch the first time which I really enjoyed. I still have till September 2015 before I ORD so is there enough time?

You're likely to aggravate your injury. My piece of advice for u. SCS/OCS training really requires you to have no known or negligible medical defects on u (Thus PES A or B1). You need much more agility, your body must also be able to withstand more weight than in BMT and your body must be able to repair injuries in a rather fast pace - without going into the specifics.

Not everyone's body is built for command sch. I've seen real examples. Similar to yours, become seriously injured for life, regret when there's no turning back.

That said if you still wanna bia, nobody can stop you beside the MO. Do your physio consistently, try to recover from your injury as much as possible.

Doesn't mean pes c means cannot be commander. Youre still able to get conversion courses to 3SG in support vocations/appointments.

There is a specific number u can call cos they are the one prepare the roll call for the BMT intake. U got access to OA? Try search for it. I push myself for BMT recourse that way.

If ur so proactive u just call up and remind u to push u to the earliest BMT recourse date. As for SCS it depends on ur performance in ur BMT. But ofcourse u must be PES A or B la.

Thats the only thing that worries me. I can keep up with all the physical stuff and do well in it but its after the activity that I struggle to recover. I'm only here for 2 years before I go back to the UK. I want to make my time in NS feel worth it not feel a failure for having to drop out of BMT.

okay thanks I will try find that number!

Yeah my PES is pes B1. I'm worried because I hear stories of how certain camps delay your BMT until you are a few months from ORD'ing which I DO NOT want. I want to be straight back to Tekong asap.

hi malevolent,

i have read ur threads discussing the reason u OOT from BMT, the reason why u want to recourse BMT and enter command school, and also the struggles u faced to earn ur recourse.

i face the same situation. i enlisted in november 2013 (last year) but got OOT after 1 month of BMT due to a medical condition. since then, i have been a clerk.

just like u, my pes status is still B1L1 and i want to recourse in a leadership batch asap to go to command school. my medical condition is now fully healed thanks to the therapy sponsored by SAF.

i see that u have alrdy gone for ur recourse in february. i will be going for the earliest possible leadership batch (7 May this year) and have alrdy been confirmed for it.

i hope we can contact and help each other with our problems as i feel we are in the same boat. glad to know of someone who despite OOTing, still has the desire to push hard and achieve his ambitions! all the best to u, hopefully we can both get into command school!
