USD in BOC account

Just thought i should try asking here.

I have some USD deposited into this BOC smart saver multi currency account.

Based on what i was told, the BOC credit card is tagged to only SGD. So even if i buy oversea item in USD, it will still convert and charged SGD to my BOC account. And if i want to withdraw the money, BOC will charge 1% fee.

How else can I make use of these USD effectively?
Is it better to do currency exchange of these USD to SGD within the bank itself?

Thanks.

I called BOC.. Some PRC CSO answered with a super heavy accent.. And in short tell me no one complain. Maybe my card got hacked, so they jam it.. So rubbish..

I tried a few times just now and manage to get OTP for 2 times, perhaps you can start trying now. :D

Guys, the interest rcv on the last day of last month includes the bonus interest after fulfilling the 3 task? Or that is basic interest?

I was reading back the account... it states:

Introduction

BOC SmartSaver is a savings plan for BOC Multi-Currency Savings (MCS) account holders to earn bonus interests on top of the prevailing interests. Earn up to 3.55% p.a. on the first S$60,000 of your account balance when you perform the following designated transactions:

Card Spend
Salary Crediting
Payment
In addition, enjoy 1.00% p.a. on your account balance above S$60,000 when you have fulfilled at least one of the above criteria.

So more than 60k is get 1% or 0.6%??

The bonus interest will come in later this month as separate amounts for each category.

Interest on last day of the month is just the base interest for the entire account, including the amount above $60,000 if any.

but i only received $20.58
