considering to do so too. but need to cancel the giro all. anyone have experience on this?

Just call in and cancel. And if you pay your bills way in advance of the due date, no giro deductions will be made as well.

Which organisations are those? You should receive bills whether or not you pay via giro

Call the billing organisation

Any thoughts on this plan of action?

Thinking of using this plan solely as a savings account and assuming a base interest rate of 0.25% for simplicity.

I will credit salary for additional 1%
I will make a monthly payment of $600 via CC for additional 1.55% (student loan repayment)

My total interest rate will be 2.8%

A few questions:

1) If i withdraw/transfer a percentage of my balance every month to another account (since this is a savings account), does it affect my interest rate? Plan above still valid

2) My current bill payments are for Singtel and MyRepublic. May pay for gym membership or insurance monthly. I checked the merchants available, only Singtel is available. Any alternatives to hit 3? Possible to pay my bills via CC then use this account to pay for that CC since a lot of banks are available as payment organizations.

Thanks!

1. Base interest in tiered. The higher daily average balance you have, the higher interest you enjoy.

2. Amount doesn't matter, number of transactions matter. I made 3 transactions of 5 dollars to my 3 credit cards every month

I think more important is the day and time to go bah... Mondays and Fridays usually most crowded.
(pened mine in Causeway Point on one fine Wednesday lunch time, only waited a minute for the teller to take her seat behind the counter then my number flash liao :))
